Rough second installation of the series with our record now sitting at 3-4. Plenty of appealing matchups to get back on track today though.
Atlanta Hawks (-7.5) vs Detroit Pistons
While 7.5 is flirting with “too many points” territory, it’s still a line worth betting. Cade Cunningham of the Pistons has been on a tear as of late (20+ points in 4 of last 5), but so has Trae Young (29.5 ppg in his last 10). With Young at the helm and just an overall better offensive team, take Atlanta and the points but don’t be surprised if it’s close through 3 quarters.
Philadelphia 76ers (-7) vs Chicago Bulls
At this point I’m convinced Philly will cover every spread the rest of the season when James Harden and Joel Embiid both play. Regardless of who the matchup is. While Chicago has an elite lineup themselves (DeMar Derozan is arguably the most underrated player in the league this year), Harden and Embiid compliment each other’s play style better than any other duo in the league. Philly runs Chicago out of the gym in this one. Expect a 10+ point blowout.
Utah Jazz (+100) vs Dallas Mavericks
Essentially a toss up on paper, the smart betting option for me in a toss up is to go with the more complete team. While Luka Doncic may be the best player on the court, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are easily the best duo. It’s gonna be a three point game and the smart money is on Utah.
