Atletico Madrid vs. Leicester City
The reigning champions of the Premier League are set to take on Diego Simeone’s Atletico. After going down 2-1 to Spanish side Sevilla in the first leg, Leicester City channeled some of their title run magic to lead themselves to a 2-0 win back at King Power Stadium. Again, the Foxes will be heading into the match as underdogs to the Spanish outfit. After a fast 4-2 start against Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico posted a goalless draw in the second leg of the round of 16. Boasting strong defenses, both Leicester and Atletico may only need one or two goals to seal their ticket into the semi-final round.
Barcelona vs Juventus
Following arguably the best comeback in football history, Barcelona look to continue their free-scoring form in which they secured a 6-1 win over French side Paris Saint-Germain win to comeback from down 4-0 on aggregate. With the dynamic trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi leading the line, Italian giants Juventus will have a handful to try to defend. Juventus again is in incredible form as the they find themselves at Serie A with a record of 24 wins, one draw, and only 4 losses. In the Round of 16, Juventus easily dispatched of Portuguese side Porto scoring three unanswered goals across both legs. Juventus too, will be looking for revenge against the Catalan giants after suffering a 3-1 defeat in the 2015 Champions League Final.
Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich
After demolishing Arsenal 10-2 on aggregate, Carlo Ancelotti looks to lead his Bayern side against his former club Real Madrid and his assistant coach Zinedine Zidane. Having great success both domestically and in European competition, Bayern fans are hoping that Ancelotti can bring the elusive Champions League trophy back to Germany. Zidane’s Los Blancos side, on the other hand, looks to follow up last years tremendous campaign in which the Spanish side hoisted the Champions League Trophy after a 5-3 penalty shootout with Atletico Madrid. Like the Bavarian giants, Real Madrid also was able to coast past their Round of 16 opponents, Napoli, winning 6-2 on aggregate.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Monaco
Featuring arguably two of the most talented young squads in all of Europe, Borussia Dortmund vs. Monaco is set to be exciting. After falling down 0-1 on aggregate to Benfica, Dortmund’s young stars Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stole the show scoring four goals to see the German side advance to the quarter-final stage. Monaco faced an uphill battle in the Round of 16 too. After falling 5-3 in the first leg to English giants Manchester City, the French club made a dramatic comeback on the shoulders of their young stars Kylian Mbappe Lottin, Fabinho, and Tiemoue Bakayoko leading them to a 3-1 victory and passing through via away goal advantage on a 6-6 aggregate score. Both squads again will call on their young stars to advance onto the next round.
